Your Best Investments -
by Dr. Phillip E. Humbert
1. Invest in your Dreams. I continue to meet folks who are not clear about their goals or their dreams. Success does NOT work that way! Here are two investments you must make to control your future: (1) Invest 10 minutes every morning to define and affirm your goals. Write them down. Visualize them. Talk about them. 10 minutes, every morning! And, (2) Take an action step every day. Do something that moves you in the direction you want to go.
2. Invest in Time and Space. Most of us live with cluttered desks, cluttered schedules, and cluttered lives. Human beings can not do our best when we are surrounded by clutter! Peak performance requires focus, organization, concentration and freedom. Your environment is a pretty good reflection of your priorities. Clean it up. Eliminate the things that distract you. Fix or replace things that get in the way and frustrate you. Give yourself your best chance for success!
3. Invest in Connectivity. In technology, this refers to broadband, high-speed communications. It means the same thing here. Success requires high-speed, effective communication in your relationships, and with yourself. Invest in clarity. Invest in understanding. Invest in patience and caring and sharing. Invest in yourself and your loved ones, and expand your network as far as you can reach. The larger and more efficient your "connected network", the more successful you will be.
4. Invest in Skills and Education. This is on the list because it is essential, but it is last on the list because your Dreams, your Environment and your Connections are even more important. But, in the end, you have to actually know something! You have to be able to produce, to create, to solve problems, and get stuff done! That means learning new skills, every day! Whatever your profession, be the BEST! Understand and use the best tools and most appropriate skills. Invest in your toolbox!
I am convinced that if you do not invest in yourself, in your dreams and in your community, you are actually making a choice for obsolescence. Without continuous personal growth, you are reducing your future income, and even more, you are reducing your opportunities and your options.
Someone has said, "the future belongs to those who are prepared". Make sure you have the freedom and focus to seize the day! Make sure that when opportunity knocks, you have the clarity, the time and space, and the skills to answer the door! Invest in yourself, either with a personal mentor, or with books and tapes, and take time to plan. Invest for the LIFE you want tomorrow

Positive Thought for the day
I will be trying to put Postivities on daily. A lot of self help authors say to repeat Postivities daily and put them in the present as if it is already a reality not in the future because the subconsious mind will keep what your working toward in the future. So I will be posting Postivities that you can repeat daily
Positivity
I now take in all detail of what I want to attract.
The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain.
-Kahlil Gibran
From the daily motivator
Magnificent treasure
They wait patiently in the back of your mind, gently reminding you from time to time of their presence. Each time they come to the surface, you feel a tinge of longing and wonder and excitement. You consider them for a moment, and then you usually push them back away from your awareness. Something, seemingly more urgent, comes along.
Yet they never completely go away. Because there is something in them that tells you about who you are.
What are they? They're the best of your unexplored possibilities.
You hold on to them, keep them buried away, and cherish them deeply in your own way. Maybe now, though, maybe it is time to begin giving life to them.
The next time one of those unexplored possibilities reminds you of itself, do more than just putting it back away. For in the best of those unexplored possibilities, there is magnificent treasure to be found.
-- Ralph Marston
Joke
Criminal Masterminds - New Jersey
A Newark woman reporting her car as stolen mentioned that there was a car phone in it. The policeman taking the report called the phone and told the guy that answered that he had read the ad in the newspaper and wanted to buy the car. They arranged to meet, and the thief was arrested.
Idiots In The Neighborhood
I live in a semi-rural area. We recently had a new neighbor call the local township administrative office to request the removal of the Deer Crossing sign on our road. The reason: too many deer were being hit by cars and he didn't want them to cross there anymore.

What would you do today
What would you do today if you knew you could not Fail? If you had an absolute guarantee of Success (whatever you conceive that to be), what would you do?
How would you act? What would you think? Would you celebrate your victories in advance? Would you enjoy your endeavor more? How would you live your life and how would you conduct your business?
My guess is that if you had such a guarantee, you would do things much differently. You would not let 'fear' of anything hold you back, no fear of failure, no fear of success. You would not let 'doubt' creep into your thoughts and immobilize your actions. You would not compare yourself with others and underestimate your own contribution. If you had some rejection along the way, you would blow it off and go on, because it wouldn't matter because you were going to succeed anyway. If someone doesn't see that, it doesn't hurt you because you have a guarantee of success.
You would proceed and live with the confidence, poise and passion that would absolutely propel you to your dream of success. You would take the necessary and the extraordinary actions to make your dream a reality without any thought because you cannot fail and of course, even when success is guaranteed, action is required.
So why not pretend? Use your imagination. Pretend like you have the ironclad, rock-solid guarantee that you will have the success you desire. It's your fantasy; make it real in your own mind. Play the game and visualize the outcome. Start 'acting as if' you have that guarantee. Then see what happens.
'And will you succeed? Yes! You will indeed! (98 ¾ percent guaranteed)' Dr. Seuss 1904-1991

Things to Remember
I find what I look for in people. If I look for God, I find God. If I look for bad qualities, I find them. I, in a sense, select what I expect, and I receive it. A life without challenges would be like going to school without lessons to learn. Challenges come not to depress or get me down, but to master and to grow and to unfold thereby.
In the Father's wise and loving plan for me, no burden can fall upon me, no emergency can arise, no grief can overtake me, before I am given the grace and strength to meet them.
A rich, full life is not determined by outer circumstances and relationships. These can be contributory to it, but cannot be the source. I am happy or unhappy because of what I think and feel.
I can never lose anything that belongs to me, nor can I posses what is not really mine.
To never run from a problem: either it will chase me or I will run into another just like it, although it may have a different face or name.
To have no concern for tomorrow. Today is the yesterday over which I had concern.
To never bang on a closed door: Wait for it to open and then go through it.
A person who has come into my life has come either to teach me something, or to learn something from me.

Positivity
I am a master at manifesting that which I desire.
Wisdom is the quality that keeps you from getting into situations where you need it.

Do it anyway
Achievement most often takes place under conditions that are less than ideal. Just because there is some problem or difficulty or shortcoming in your life at the moment, it does not prevent you from moving forward. Focus not on what is missing or what is wrong. Focus on doing your very best within the circumstances as they are.
Seek not to find an excuse. Instead, do what you have chosen to do, create what you have chosen to create, live as you have chosen to live, no matter what.
If you wait until conditions are perfect, you'll spend most of your time waiting. You'll be far better off when you go ahead and put that time to effective and productive use.
There may be plenty of reasonable excuses for not moving forward. Go ahead and do it anyway.
Sure, it would be great if some things were a little different, yet the reality is that conditions are as they are. Do it anyway, for that is the way it will get done.

Vet Cure
A Veterinarian was feeling ill and went to see her doctor.
The doctor asked her all the usual questions: what were the symptoms, how long had they been occurring, etc..
Suddenly, she interrupted him: "Hey look, I'm a vet - I don't need to ask my patients these kind of questions: I can tell what's wrong just by looking." She smugly added, "Why can't you?"
The doctor nodded, stood back, looked her up and down, quickly wrote out a prescription, handed it to her and said,
"There you are. Of course, if that doesn't work, we'll have to have you put to sleep."
When I Was Your Age
A young man who was also an avid golfer found himself with a few hours to spare one afternoon. He figured if he hurried and played very fast, he could get in 9 holes before he had to head home.
Just as he was about to tee off an old gentleman shuffled onto the tee and asked if he could accompany the young man as he was golfing alone.
Not being able to say no, he allowed the old gent to join him.
To his surprise the old man played fairly quickly. He didn't hit the ball far but plodded along consistently and didn't waste much time.
They reached the ninth fairway, and the young man found himself with a tough shot. There was a large pine tree right in front of his ball, directly between his ball and the green.
After several minutes of debating how to hit the shot the old man finally said, "You know, when I was your age I'd hit the ball right over that tree."
With that challenge placed before him, the youngster swung hard and hit the ball right smack into the top of the tree trunk, where it thudded back on the ground not a foot from where it had originally been.
The old man offered one more comment, "Of course, when I was your age that pine tree was only 3 feet tall."
